About the Author
Amy Stacey Curtis received her MA in Art and Psychology from Vermont College of Norwich University in 2000, and in 2003, proposed/juried "Women, Trauma & Visual Expression" at Woman Made Gallery in Chicago, an international exhibit featuring work by women who have experienced trauma.

Curtis combines her own story with the stories of women from varying historical periods, with diverse personal histories and different relations to their own traumatic experiences. What ties these stories to each other is each woman's affinity to transform her personal trauma into an artistic expression that is free to exist outside of her. This work is an invitation into personal healing and an insight into understanding the patterns of others who have experienced trauma.
