In general, 'intimate scenes' are what you find here...Some of these pictures, all reproduced on coated paper to National Geographic standards, look more like abstract art than scenes from nature...Now (because I enjoyed Collier's images of the smaller world, of leaves and flowers and ice and sand), I find myself looking around my feet and focusing on the beauty of the tiny little things I used to ignore. --Ed Quillen, Colorado Central Magazine
Colorado Wild tends to focus on the micro - swirling and patchy bark patterns in Rocky Mountain National Park, river rocks gleaming underwater in the Elk Mountains, contorted aspen on Owl Creek Pass. Grant Collier is one of Colorado's premier nature photographers. His images have been featured in magazines throughout the United States and Europe and he is the author of the books Colorado: Yesterday & Today, Colorado: Moments in Time, and Colorado's Hidden Wonders. He also produces a yearly wall calendar and his images have been displayed in galleries throughout Colorado.

A must have book

In this book, Grant gives me a different perspective on the wonderful Colorado landscape. Too often I tend to focus on the grand scenics..snow covered mountains, panoramas and such when some of the best scenes are up close and personal. Grant shows us intimate landscapes, flowers, great sand patterns, aspen boles and so much more. I found this book to be both relaxing and inspirational in my work as a photographer. I would recommend this book to anyone!
