An avid sea kayaker and marathon kayak competitor, Michaela has paddled throughout much of the U.S. and Canada including the rugged coast of Nova Scotia, Vancouver Island, and the Prince William Sound, Alaska. For nearly a decade, Michaela has been a freelance writer for national paddling publications such as Canoe & Kayak Magazine and Paddler Magazine.
