Outstanding!
By History Teacher
I am a history teacher and a Revolutionary War re-enacter of the British Army. This book has been very informative in refining our re-enacting soldier's "kit" and helping me understand how the British Army organized and equipped itself. Extremely well illustrated and documented. A must read for anyone interested in the French & Indian War, as well as the re-enacting hobby.

FANTASTIC Volume About Red Coats' Equipment...

"A Soldier-Like Way," is an excellent addition to the historiography of the French & Indian War/Seven Years War. The author, J.J. Gale, has deep research experience, and it clearly shows in this book. Gale does an awesome job documenting the equipment and weapons of the famous Red Coats, as well as explaining the artifacts' meaning. This is a wonderful book, and would be a great addition to one's book shelf.
